LOADSHEDDING PROTECTION

Q: Can I cancel my electricity connection once solar is installed?
A: Only an Off Grid solar system with diesel and/or battery storage will allow you to cancel your electricity connection.
Q: Will solar work 24/7?
A: Solar needs sunshine to generate electricity. You will still require the grid or stored solar energy for electricity outside of sun hours.
Q: How much will I save with a solar system?
A: The sky is the limit; literally…. the amount of savings you can achieve is dependent on how much roof or ground space the property has to generate electricity compared to their electricity usage.
Q: What if new technologies come out?
A: No matter how ‘outdated’ technology becomes we are still able to provide a continued source of clean energy.
Q: Do I need an ECSA Professional Electrical Engineer and Electrician to design and sign off on my Solar System?
A: Yes. Ijika Solar Solutions has ECSA registered Professional Electrical Engineers and qualified electricians which design and sign off all our solar systems.
Q: How do we ensure that the meter readings are accurate?
A: We make use of a billing class meter (regulatory standards approved). We also provide our customers with access to our online monitoring portal where they can view the energy usage and savings generated from the solar system.
Q: How long is the power purchase agreement (PPA)?
A: Our PPA’s are 10 - 20 years with the option to take ownership after 7 years.
